When it rains, it pours
Here are a few photos from last weekend. I did some biking, some running and went camping too. I even caught a nice snake. I think it was a Northern Water snake. Cody and I ran a super soggy loop at Wyco last Sunday. It was so wet that the mud didn't even stick. Nice. On a sad note, my Grandma passed away last Friday, May 25. She was 85 years old. Her funeral was yesterday. There is a lot of grief and it was hard for the whole family, but her quality of life had really gone downhill in the last year or two. It's hard to watch a loved one wither away like she did. She's in a better place now. A couple of local runners are doing the Kettle Moraine 100 on Saturday. I'm anxious to see how they do. I'm going to be spending more time out at Wyandotte County Lake, both for training and working on the course for Psummer Psycho. I'm hoping to get some long runs in out there. It looks like I'm headed to the Leadville Marathon again in July against my better judgement, so I better get my ass in shape.

Crash,
Sorry to hear about your Grandma, God rest her soul.
My Grandpa is turning 85 this summer, so we're going to head down there to see him, maybe for the last time.
We haven't seen him in six years, and he's never even seen Aubry. Mid-July, probably about the same time as Leadville.
My condolences. Thanks for the words of encouragement regarding Kettle, unfortunately it was not my day, I'll have my day in the sun soon enough at that race, but I just didn't have the zip yesterday.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. I plan on coming down to visit Caleb and run the Psycho summer 50km, Trail Nerd country!

Is that your son biking at SMP? I recognized that turn on the River Walk path. I used to park at the damn and bike one end to the other and back to the middle. Nice ride...and nice trails.

Nice pics, we are going to go camping next weekend for Fathers Day. I hope I can get out with you soon at Wyco. I am jealous you are going to Leadville. Run Strong.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother.
Yes Shane sorry to hear about your grandma. Like Paul I fear my grandpa too doesn't have much time left. It is an inevitable part of life however which reminds us to cherish time spent with our loved ones that much more.
Thanks for keeping up with my blog. You can't keep a good man down. Tenatively I have the Psycho Psummer 50km penciled in. As far as showing up ready to race thats another question. Turns out that the muscle I thought I had pulled is actually a broken rib. Diagnosis 4 to 6 weeks. So I know I won't have any speed but we'll see. It sounds like theres gonna be quite a few slow runners there to make it interesting anyway. LOL. Are you gonna make it out to Perry this weekend? Talk to you later and take care.
Sorry to hear about your Grandma.
Man, a marathon in Leadville?
I've been there for a visit, eons ago, and running there sounds TOUGH but wonderful too.
Good luck and keep us posted.
